Jamaican schools need to teach civics or something dealing with how people are supposed to look at strangers. There needs to be a course in every school dealing with red eye and coveting people’s things. This generation and the past have failed their children.
Civics used to be taught in secondary schools up until the early 90s, I took and passed it in JSC exams. I don’t know if it’s still taught but it definitely would be a good idea to introduce it at primary level, what would also benefit the youths is an updated social studies curriculum that focuses less on geography and more on sociology..after all, we aren’t going anywhere, so we may as well learn to live together.
Every head of household has to be responsible for what their children are learning and lead by example…At the same time the goverment officials/rich churches and pastors have set the tone of the people and they lead by example showing how greedy and corrupt they are at every turn. Everyone wants to floss. Then worshipping of social media is now raising children and enforcing the ideologies “if you do not have a certain image look or brands,all kinds of surgery and skin bleaching at serious health risk” then you are no “popping” or valued.
