FROM THE JAMAICA BEACON

LINSTEAD BUSINESSMAN KILLED AT CHURCH

A businessman from Linstead, St. Catherine, was gunned down in a Kingston churchyard this morning.

He is Wayne Stanbury, head of Berry-Don Financial Services on King Street, Linstead.

The communications arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force told The Beacon that it is aware of the incident, but is yet to receive details from investigators.

Councillor for Linstead Division Herbert Garriques, along with other sources, confirmed the shooting as well as the identity of the deceased.

A video of the crime scene shows the victim lying on his back.

Stanbury has been gunmen’s target for months.

On the night of October 11 last year, he was shot and wounded while heading home from church in a car. He later left his community in Linstead.

That first shooting happened shortly after Stanbury’s wife died of cancer.

      1. FYI, IMHO, no one dies from natural causes in Jamaica. Being such a superstitious country, the population believes that obeah have to be attached to each death.

  1. Heard that also Anon 4:38pm. You think it’s coincidence his wife was mentioned in the article? I would like to hear what motive though, dead left or what?
