ROOTS play actor Cleve ‘Chu Chu’ Warren will be interred in his birth parish — St Thomas, according to fellow actor and friend Lascelles ‘Girlie’ Parnell.
However, no date is set for the funeral.
Parnell said Warren’s mother, known to him only as Miss B, is set to arrive in Jamaica on December 7 from the United Kindgom where she resides.
“When she comes on the 7th, that’s when she will set the date for the funeral. His mother wants her son to be buried in St Thomas,” said Parnell.
He further stated that there was no dispute over where Warren should be buried.
“Let me set the record straight, nobody wants Cleve Warren to be buried in St Ann. What we — some of his friends and fellow actors — want, is a viewing of the body here in St Ann before the funeral, because some people will not be able to make it St Thomas. We are discussing that with his mother,” Parnell explained.
Warren died in the St Ann’s Bay hospital on November 20 after complaining of feeling dizzy.
An autopsy conducted this week revealed that the 46-year-old-actor injested 57 pellets, which have been sent to the lab for testing to determine the contents.
Warren, who fell ill enroute to the Norman Manley International Airport and was taken to the hospital where he died, is best know for his roles in productions such as Passa Passa and Bashment Granny.
