Ten charged with lottery scamming following Hanover operation

Ten people have been charged with lottery scamming following special operations in Phoenix Town and Santoy in Hanover Wednesday morning.

The Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Division (C-TOC), the Hanover police and the military conducted the operations lasting from 5 o’clock to 8:45.

A news release from the Jamaica Constabulary Force Corporate Communications Unit said the operations were part of a two-year investigation into the lottery scam.

The ten people are scheduled to appear before the Hanover Parish Court next Tuesday.

Two women and a man who were taken in custody during the operations were processed and released.
