Fire Brigade investigating cause of Beeston Street fire in which 6 year-old boy died
The Jamaica Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of Friday’s blaze at a house which claimed the life of a six-year-old boy on Beeston Street in downtown Kingston.
Davenee Smith was a student of North Street Primary School.
One of the residents said the fire started about 5 o’clock.
It’s reported that the boy’s mother was rushed to hospital after she collapsed on hearing the news of his death. Several other persons were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
The fire destroyed the house.
It’s unclear how the blaze started.
