WOMEN STEAL BRIDGET SANDALS

THIEF

Two women accused of stealing two pairs of sandals from the Bridget Sandals on Abbeydale Road in Kingston, had their bail extended when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Britani Linton, 22, a resident of Seaward Drive, Kingston 20, and Renee Linton 23, a resident of Whitehall Avenue, Kingston 8, both pleaded not guilty to the charges of simple larceny.

Reports are that on September 3, both accused went to the Bridget Sandals store and while browsing, Britani reportedly took two pairs of Kay-style sandals from the shelf and allegedly placed them in Renee’s bag.

It is alleged that the accused women created a scene when they were stopped by the security officer, who had observed them taking the sandals without paying for them.

Allegations are that when they were shown CCTV footage, they offered to pay for the sandals. The police were summoned and they were both arrested and charged.

Pending the submission of outstanding camera footage, a November 30 mention date was set for them to reappear in court.‎
