HOLNESS ON THE KILLING OF THE 14YO

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has condemned the gruesome murder of 14-year-old Yetanya Francis of Arnett Gardens in St Andrew.

Yetanya was killed after she went missing on Thursday night. Her charred body was found on Friday in the community.

In a release today, Holness expressed outrage at the incident and said, “the thugs who murdered 14-year-old Yetanya Francis have no place in the Jamaican society we are seeking to create.”

The prime minister said the police have assured him that no stone will be left unturned to find the heartless perpetrators.

“I have spoken to the Minister of National Security and the Commissioner of Police. They both emphasized their resolve to ensure that the perpetrator or perpetrators are brought to justice. No society can survive the constant killing of its children and we all must stand united against these criminals,” said Holness.

He is appealing to anyone with information on the killing to report it to the police or to call Crime Stop at 311.

“Witnesses do not need to fear that their information will be exposed as we have Crime Stop – 311, and other ways to give information. I am asking members of the community of Arnett Gardens as well, if they know who the criminals are to turn them over to the police, as criminals who attack children don’t usually stop.”

  1. Mr Holness the community has had a problem with rape for a number of weeks ….can we use prevention instead of cure ????

  2. Fuck him and all those money hungry politicians. They are doing nothing to rid the island of these heinous crimes.

  3. The communities need to get involved and the artist them can make a difference also than wasting time having unnecessary petty beef with each other.

  4. I know ppl in the community know who it is but would rather put the blame on the prime minister. Yall are your own worst enemy always aiding and abetting these derange criminals

  5. Man them young & defensive and leave the kids young & defenseless. Smh it hurt me soul. Such a sweet little girl jah see & knw dem mongrel de end ago bitter

  6. Dah story ya bother me like the 13 yr old that the Trini and yardie did try fi chemical out to nuttn. But this shit aint stopping any time soon.

A lot of you guys who are not here really don’t understand what is happening a yard. Our true employment rate is like 50%.

Many seeking work but only a handful of jobs. BPO ain’t SHIT. The universities combined are pushing out more than 6,000+ graduates per year. Even lawyers can’t find work.

Most youths not working and have lost hope – many will never be able to buy a house or achieve basic things in life. Remember many have contemplated suicide.

It’s true there has been some infrastructural development (roads, schools), the poverty for the most part is running rampant for the past 30+ years and continues to deteriorate.

If the poor have nothing to do, it only compounds the problem. Nuff breed-up breed-up due to low education levels, depression, self loathing and the need to rebel.

Hardcore Garrison life is pure MADNESS. Daily abuses include:
    – verbal and physical abuse of kids
    – battery, train, rape
    – shootouts and killings

Until Garrisons are dismantled (and I think they never will), these heinous crimes will only increase over time. The Garrisons are here to stay but I hope they prove me wrong. Here endeth my essay. Shout out to the haters 🙂
