The plot, uncovered on Friday at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre by Correctional Service authorities, involved an ancillary worker and a inmate.
RJR sources have now confirmed that another inmate being housed at the Remand Centre, who was scheduled to be released on Monday remains in custody as he will be questioned in connection with the plot to kill Kartel.
The inmate has been transferred to another maximum security facility.A female ancillary worker was questioned in connection with the plot and released.
However, it has emerged that the woman who was being sought for further questioning has reportedly gone into hiding.
On Friday our sources revealed that the ancillary worker confessed that she was directed by an inmate to pick up what was said to be two bottles of lotion and three ratchet knives.
The bottles reportedly contain poison that can penetrate the skin.
That inmate was allegedly planning to attack Kartel when both were released from their cells.
