UCHENCE GANG WITNESS TESTIFIES AGAINST HIS AUNT WHO IS ALSO A GANG MEMBER

The key prosecution witness at the trial of Uchence Wilson and members of his criminal network, on Monday testified that there are more members of the gang who remain at large.

Twenty-four members of the gang are on trial.

They are charged under the anti-gang legislation.

During cross examination by the defence, the witness, a former member of the gang, told the trial that there are ten members who have not been captured.

He denied suggestions that he was seeking revenge and had lied to the court about the accused being involved in armed robberies across seven parishes between 2015 and 2017.

He insisted that persons charged in the case, including his aunt, were members of the criminal enterprise.

Prosecutors say members of the Uchence Wilson gang were involved in armed robberies, car stealing, rape and murders over the two year period.

The gang also stole goods valued at more than $400 million.
