GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1Chronicles 4:10
The way out of the troubles we face in life is prayer. Prayer remains the master key that unlocks every door of blessing that has been shut against us and permanently lock every evil door through which the enemy enters into our lives to afflict us. Prayer is a process that requires faith and patience but a lot of Christians have given up on prayer because they lack the tenacity to patiently wait in faith.
But Jabez prayed to the God of Israel, “Bless me, God, and give me much land. Be with me and keep me from anything evil that might cause me pain.” His mother had named him Jabez because his birth was very painful but be was conscious enough to cry out to God to change his story and replace the pain his life was named with a blessing
What are you doing about that ancestral curse you inherited; it is destroying your life and even the lives of your children are also being affected? The doctor has said that sickness is hereditary in your family; it may have killed your grandmother, your mother is dying and you are scared stiff that the symptoms will soon start manifesting in your body; are you just going to helplessly wait for your turn? Let the story of Jabez inspire you to fight back with prayer because God answers prayers.

Everything in the Bible is there for a purpose. The importance of prayer cannot be over emphasised. Prayer is a passionate plea to God to intervene. Right from the book of Genesis to Revelation we see all kind of people whose lives were transformed because they prayed.
Luke18:1″ Jesus told them a parable that they ought ALWAYS to pray and not to faint.” Faint in this context means not to lose heart or give up. Psalm 50:15″ (Ampl) And call on me in day of trouble; i will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me” That is exactly what Jabez did, he had a problem and called on the God of Israel and God answered all his request. God still answer prayer speedily but most of the time the ingredient of Prayers is not complete. Hebrew 11:6″ But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For whoever would come near to God must believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly seek Him”. 1Thessalonian5:17_18 ” Be unceasing in prayers;”Thank God in everything.” Thanksgiving is a higher form of prayer. In fifty two days the bible says Nehemiah completed the building of the walls of Jerusalem. That is what prayer can do. In process the enemy tried so much to stop the work but Nehemiah was persistent and remain focused. Mark 11:25 says if you are praying and have anything against anyone Forgive so that your father who answers prayer will forgive you and answer your prayer.
King David was a man after God’s heart despite his weakness and God answered all his prayer. Proverbs3:5 a popular song says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and he shall direct your path.
