FEAR GOD-GOOD MORNING

FEAR GOD

“I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?
And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens
and laid the foundations of the earth; you have feared continually every day
because of the fury of the oppressor, when he has prepared to destroy.
And where is the fury of the oppressor? Isaiah 51:12 – 13

The menace of the bully is one that confronts not only children in school but adults as well, as they go about their daily lives. For some people the bully is that stern implacable boss in the office who is never pleased with their work and always issuing queries and threats of expulsion from service. Thus their boss is like a god who rules over their lives. They will rather disobey God and not attend midweek fellowship than leave the office at closing time because the boss is working late. For others, the bully might be a difficult spouse they are head over heels in love with, that is the kind of situation in which a man is in the kitchen cooking after work while his wife is out spending his money at the beauty salon getting her hair and nails done.

But God is asking you today that why are you afraid of the furry from a mere mortal that is seen today and tomorrow is no more. You fear man because you do not truly fear God. You are afraid of your boss because you fail to realize that he is what he is by the grace of God and all power belongs to God. You tremble over your spouse because you do not know how much God loves you and can’t see Him as your comforter. Jesus commanded His disciples not to fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both body and soul. (Mathew 10: 28)

Liberation thought: For the Lord is a great God and a great king above all the earth.

Prayer:

Father I thank you because you are the greater one who live in me; greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world!
Father, thank you because you have prepared a table for me in the presence of my enemies, in the name of Jesus
I declare that like Joshua, no man shall be able to oppose and defeat me all the days of my life, in the mighty name of Jesus
