BE AN IMITATOR OF GOD-GOOD MORNING

BE AN IMITATOR OF GOD

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” (Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV)

Do you believe that there is an Almighty God who is infinitely higher, richer, wiser, greater and stronger than anyone or anything else? If you do, that is good! However, God expects much more from His children than just believing He exists or putting faith in Him. Why? For the devil also believe there is God! Do you belong to God? Do you acknowledge the lordship of Christ? If you do, that is very good! However, God still demands much more than that. Why? Because all things actually belong to God! Moreover, at the close of the ages, all men, whether willingly or forcefully shall bow to the Lord Jesus. What then is greater than believing in God and belonging to God? Behaving like God! Imitating God! Nothing gives God much pleasure as seeing His children think, speak, act, walk or live like Jesus Christ in the world. That is our ultimate call as God’s children. That is simply what it means to be a Christian.

Your claim to be a Christian is not valid if your life or character bears no resemblance to that of Christ. Christianity is simply thinking, speaking, walking, living, or acting like Christ. It is conforming to Christ and His teachings. It is patterning your life after Christ. It is adopting or living by Christ’s principles, standards and values. It is following Christ’s examples in everything. This is your highest call as a believer! Imitating God is not optional for everyone who claims to believe in God or belong to God. It is compulsory, for it is God’s commandment. The Scripture commands: “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” (Eph. 5:1-2 NKJV). ”
