A 13 year old Chitungwiza girl was lashed with an electric cord – while she had no clothes – by her mother on for returning home late from school.
Dadirai Munatsi ordered her daughter to undress before whipping her.
The minor was seen with injuries by her teacher who quickly reported to the police.
Munetsi appeared in court facing allegations of ill-treating her daughter.
She was found guilty by Chitungwiza magistrate, Lazarus Murendo and fined $100.
According to H-METRO, on March 12, the girl came home late from school.
At around 6pm, the mother asked her why she had been late.
She reportedly ordered her to take off her clothes and she took an electric cable and began assaulting her several times.
The court heard that the matter only came to light after teachers noticed the injuries on her and made a police report.
