WTF AFRICA-WIFE N HUSBAND CUT OFF BREDDA HAND

AN Ilorin Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered that Yan-Mallam Shagari and her husband, Abubakar, who police accused of allegedly severing a relation’s arm be remanded in Federal Prison yard.

The police charged the couple for conspiracy and causing grievous hurt.

Chief Magistrate Mrs Ibijoke Olawoyin, gave the order after the couple failed to meet their bail conditions after arraignment.

She also ordered that the sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

The case was adjourned until Dec. 19, for further mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Alhassan Jibrin told the court that on Nov. 21, the case was transferred from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Okuta to Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Ilorin for discreet investigation.

Jibrin said that information was received at the Divisional Police Headquarters Okuta that the couple, who live in Koro Fulani Camp Bankubu, Okuta, Kwara, criminally conspired together and attacked Mutari.


He alleged that the second accused person attacked Mutari with a cutlass, causing the left arm of Mutari severed completely.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 97 and 243 of the penal code law.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the offence, with reasons.

In her defence, Yan-Mallam told the court that Mutari attacked her husband that day.

She said that all efforts to separate her husband and younger brother was futile.
