WTF AFRICA- PASTOR WID DI BAD WIFE

My Wife Tore All My Clothes, Slapped Me Three Times, Held A Knife To My

A cleric, Samuel Adebowale has prayed Oja Oba/ Mapo Court C Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State to terminate his three-year-old union with his wife, Temiloluwa Adebowale.

Samuel had brought the divorce before the court on the accounts of troublesomeness, disrespect and violence by the wife.

The plaintiff stated that he had no rest of mind and that he daily lived in fear because she could one day kill him.

The plaintiff appealed to the court, if his prayer was answered to restrain the defendant from coming to fight him in his house or work place.

My lord, my wife is a devil in human skin. She appears gentle and meek at ones first meeting with her, but behind the calm or tender look is her devilish nature. Her deceitful look was one of the things that attracted me to her.

“We have been married for three years but with no child. As a pastor, I never complained nor made life unbearable for her like other men would do, but have always encouraged her.

“I saw to it that she was comfortable and happy by meeting all her needs but being an ingrate she failed to appreciate these.

“My lord, as she gradually unveiled her hidden nature, I came to realise I was married to a demon and not an angel as I had earlier thought.

“I no more had a say in my house. My wife had no respect for me. She rubbed shoulders with me in the home and loved to dictate the tune. Any time I gave an order, she would deliberately flout it.

“She fought me almost on a daily basis and turned our home into a battle ground. Any time we had a brawl, she would shout and rain curses on me. She would also rough-handle me and will not let me go until our neighbours come to my rescue.

“Any time we had misunderstanding and she was angry, she would go for my clothes and tear them into shreds. As a result, I go about these days almost naked.

“As a pastor, I no more have worth before our neighbours and church members because of her unruly behaviour.

“My lord, she once fought me in the night and slapped me thrice. I was dazed but refused to retaliate.

“At another time she went violent after we had a heated argument, she held a knife to my chest and swore to stab or pin me down to the bed with it if I dare raise my voice against her. I truly thought my end had come and therefore heaved a sigh of relief when she released me. I decided against sleeping in the house that night because I was scared she could make her threat real.

“I no longer had peace while I always feared returning home after the day’s job. This automatically took its toll on my health and I’m sure if care is not taken I will die before my time.

“My lord, I’m too young to die now. I, therefore, plead with this honourable court to dissolve our wedlock now, “Samuel concluded.

Ruling after he had given ear to the evidence given by the plaintiff and considering the fact that the defendant had remained adamant coming to court after being served a court summon twice, the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade ruled that their marriage be dissolved.
