The police believe the elderly man who was found chopped to death in New Green, Manchester on Monday night was killed by his son.
The son is said to be of unsound mind.
The body of 63 year old Pansford Thompson was found in his driveway about 9 o’clock.
The body had chop wounds to the head and upper body.
