MANDEVILLE TAX OFFICE WORKER SHOT DEAD

The Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ) is advising that the Mandeville Tax Office is closed for business today to facilitate grief counselling for staff at the location following the death of a female worker who turned up at hospital with gunshot wounds.

When contacted, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force confirmed the report but did not provide any details on the incident.
Media reports however are that the woman’s boyfriend, who is an ex Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier, is being questioned.
The TAJ is advising taxpayers that they may conduct their usual transactions at the Christiana, Santa Cruz or May Pen tax offices, and that they will be advised through the media of the resumption of services at the location.
