DRIVE BY SHOOTING IN ST THOMAS LEAVES ONE DEAD AND SCHOOL SUSPENDED

A man is dead following a drive-by shooting in Albion, St. Thomas on Tuesday morning.

He is 33 year old Carl Armstrong otherwise called Renn of a Llandewey address in the parish.

It is reported that shortly after 8:00 a.m., Mr. Armstrong was dropping off students to the Grants Pen Primary School when a car drove up and the occupants shot him several times. He died on the scene.

The car reportedly sped off.

No student was harmed in the incident.

The Yallahs Police, who are investigating, have not yet established a motive for the killing.

Grant Pen Primary suspended

Meanwhile, classes at Grants Pen Primary School in Albion, St. Thomas have been suspended following Tuesday morning’s shooting incident.

Marjorie Haughton, Guidance Counsellor at the school, said the students who had just exited Mr. Armstrong’s vehicle, as well as others, witnessed the incident.

According to Haughton, the traumatised students are being counselled, while others who have already left the school compound will be offered counselling on Wednesday.
