The Ocho Rios police in St Ann are investigating the murder of a senior citizen in Buckfield, whose body was found yesterday evening.
She has been identified as 72 year old Doreen Collesso.
The police report that shortly after 7pm, her granddaughter went to her house and found her lying face down in a pool of blood.
The police were called and on examination, they found a wound to her neck.
Ms Collesso was last seen on Thursday night
