The man who was being sought for questioning in relation to the brutal killing of a woman and her son in Linton Park Tuesday evening was hacked to death by residents in Watt Town Thursday night.
Orville Scarlett, also known as “Bull”, was asked to turn himself in to the police by midday on Thursday after he allegedly attacked his ex-lover Allisha Francis and her three children when they arrived home about 9:30 Tuesday night. Francis and her 10-year-old son Jahmani Jackson were chopped to death, while her 12-year-old son, who was also chopped, remains in hospital. The woman’s young daughter, who ran into a neighbour’s, home escaped injury.
Since the gruesome killing on Tuesday, residents of Linton Park and Watt Town, the community where Scarlett lived, continued to search for him. Several persons reported that they saw him in sections of the Watt Town community, however, he continued to elude people searching for him.
The search for Scarlett came to an end on Thursday night when he was found hiding under the cellar of a house in the community.
He was hacked to death by the residents.
Yesterday a number of residents expressed relief that he was caught. Some said that since the incident they were not able to sleep comfortably, knowing he was on the run.
