SUSPECT HELD IN CONNECTION WITH KILLING OF CANADIAN COUPLE

THE police say a man has been held in connection with the double murder of an elderly couple in Retreat, St Thomas last month.

A release from the police communication arm, the Corporate Communications Unit, did not disclose the name of the suspect but said he is to be questioned in the presence of his attorney.

The suspect was arrested in Seaforth district, St Thomas on Wednesday.

The police say that on January 9, Melbourne Flake, 81, and his wife, 70-year-old Etta, were found at their home about 10:30 am with their hands and feet bound. They were motionless, according to the release.

The two were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead, the police say.

In the meantime, the police are appealing to anyone who can assist them with their investigations into a triple murder that occurred in Georgia district in the parish on January 20, to contact the Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch at 982-1027, police 119 emergency number, 811, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.

  1. I really hope if someone knows something they will say something so these ppl’s souls can be at peace. Please speak up, tips can still be provided anonymously. If you are the killer turn yourself in to the authorities.
