THE JOURNEY THAT DELIVERS FROM BONDAGE-GOOD MORNING

THE JOURNEY THAT DELIVERS FROM BONDAGE

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

In John chapter 17, Jesus lifted His eyes up and prayed to the Father asking Him to glorify the son so that the son might give Him glory. He said God had given Him authority over all flesh so that He will give eternal life to as many as God had given Him, stating that eternal life is to know the only true God and Jesus whom He has sent. Earlier in the third chapter of the gospel of John, Nicodemus a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee had sneaked in at night to confer with Jesus and Jesus told him the only qualification necessary to inherit the kingdom was for a man to be born again.

The Pharisee’s demanded explanations about being born again which inspired a conversation that led Jesus to talk about His death on the cross because God loved the world and sent His son to die and give the world eternal life.

In other words, God sent His son to reveal Himself to the world through the son because it is revealed knowledge of the Father by His son that is indeed eternal life, thus to have eternal life is to know God and the son He sent. This knowledge is only given through communion with the Spirit. John 6:63 “it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life”. The Spirit alone gives eternal life, knowledge of God, human effort to know God is futile because God’s word is spirit and life. You must make a commitment to spend time with the Spirit of God, studying the word so that your knowledge of the Father will increase and grow. Being born again is simply the beginning of a journey of revelations of who God is; it is this journey that delivers us from bondage and gives us eternal life.

Liberation thought: The thief cometh not but to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus has come so that we may have abundant life!
