TEEF GET WHEY INA NWC AND PEOPLE END UP WIDOUT WAATAH

The water supply company says that the robbery has forced the shutdown of the facility impacting service to customers in Rosewell, Sandy Bay, Green Park, Free Town, Green Bottom, Breadnut Bottom, Kennedy Road, Palmers Cross, Chatteau, Rosewell Road, Cock Pit, Bodles, Sunrise Drive, Rose Hall, Toby Heights, Hartwell Gardens and Merrivale Meadows.

Maintenance Manager, Billy Meikle, has indicated that at present the company is unable to provide a restoration date as the team is still assessing the damage.

He added that it will cost over $1.5 million for the necessary replacement. Meikle stated that the NWC in recent years has had to spend over a billion dollars replacing equipment that were either stolen or vandalised.

“Such travesty just cannot continue as not only is it costing the company but innocent customers are also affected,” Meikle said.

The NWC is urging residents to report any information regarding the matter to the nearest police station or call the company’s security manager at 929-5340-5.
