Investigators will on Saturday question the police corporal who was nabbed on Tuesday night while allegedly delivering firearms to gunmen in Newlands in Portmore, St. Catherine.
The 52 year old corporal is to be questioned in the presence of his attorney, Peter Champagnie.
Investigators claimed the corporal, who is attached to the St. Catherine South Police Division, is a member of the Umbrella gang.
He was arrested during an operation by members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch (C-TOC) in Newlands.
The cops intercepted his vehicle and seized an AK47 rifle, a Taurus pistol and more than 20 rounds of ammunition. A pair of licence plates was reportedly found in the trunk of the car.
It is alleged that the policeman was delivering the guns and ammunition to members of the Umbrella gang who are locked in a deadly feud with rival factions in Newlands.
An 18 year old boy was also arrested during the snap raid on Myers Lane.
Every single gang and nefarious organizations on the island has a few police officers on payroll. This corporal is not the only affiliate of this or any other gang, he was just the one that got caught.

@Whiskey Romeo! your description of the brigadista was actually the CONCEPT of what it should have been, the cubans utilize it in that way, people were sent to cuba to train under the GUISE of study,as elite special ops and those people were HAND PICKED BY THE PNP, the training was allegedly to PROTECT the then prime minister and twart off any coup, or launch a counter coup if coup was successful, plan never materialized and as such some of those very said people later became notorious gunmen, area dons who caused mayhem in communities, trust me, I know mr. romeo :thumbup
