JAMAICAN LOTTERY SCAM NETWORK DEFRAUDED AMERICANS OF OVER 5M

Gregory Gooden, a member of the Lavrick Willocks lottery scam network, was ordered extradited to the US on Thursday.

The order was handed down when Mr. Gooden waived his right to challenge his extradition before the St. Andrew Parish Court.

Mr. Gooden appeared in court two days after he was nabbed by the local police and US marshals in Denham Town, West Kingston.

He is wanted by US prosecutors in North Dakota for mail and wire fraud.

He was one of four remaining fugitives being sought by the US Justice Department.

Eight members of the Laverick Willocks network were extradited to the United States last month and are awaiting trial.

Mr. Willocks was extradited in March.

US prosecutors accused the network of defrauding US citizens of more than US$5 million.
