The shooting deaths of Chinese couple, Zhao Shirui and Gu Yanli, outside their apartment in Marabella on Thursday night, were captured on surveillance cameras.
Police have obtained the footage which showed two men in dark-coloured hoodie jerseys shooting the couple, who were still seated in Zhao’s black Toyota Altis car.
The men, who were carrying high-powered weapons, stood on both sides of the vehicle and opened fire on the couple.
Police recovered more than 75 spent shells at the scene.
Investigators said the victims were escorted to the apartment building by armed security guards, but when the gunmen started shooting the security vehicle sped off.
The driver of the security vehicle told the Express that he was unable to fight off the men with his handgun. A security officer stationed at Kosume Bar, where the incident happened, at New Haven Avenue, ran out of the building but the shooters had already escaped in a waiting car.
Kosume Bar guards cordoned off the area and flagged down a police vehicle which was on patrol in the area.
WTF! That coward security team need to have their licenses revoke “null and void” fi life!

Easy for you to say. Would you challenge two men with assault rifles when you only have a 9mm pistol or .45 pistol with ~ 10-16 bullet magazine and maybe a single spare magazine each?
Low-paid cowards live to see another day and get to go home to their family. These are NOT highly trained, highly paid secret service agents, they are basically security guards with guns. Do you think they are going to risk their lives for some Chinese? If the Chinese were concern about their safety, they should have had their own personal bodyguards.

The motive was not robbery . Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
They were not officially a couple. His sister owned the casino. He had a few other businesses and the dead woman was allegedly an
” employee ” at the casino .
What a way these killers wicked and ungodly . To take lives cold blooded and continue living with no conscience!
A lot of armed militia hit men also sneak in from Venezuela which is less than an hour away by boat in some parts of Trinidad.
The Chinese community must really be shaken by this !
There is also a HUGE influx of Chinese new immigrants and tons of new casinos and businesses opening in Trinidad, money laundering and other under cover financial crime can also be a motive, or a love triangle.
How you know is not a rival Chinese business person call in di hit? If robbery was not the motive and it’s ppl with high powered weapons seems like it was a planned execution. The only ppl who would benefit from such an execution is their own group. Not even China crime free, dem just shoot up a kindergarten a few days ago and about a year or two ago a man stabbed up how many children. These ppl nuh no different from any other group, dem hab dem crimes and criminals just the same.
