FATHER OF BABY RAPED AND KILLED BY BROTHER IN TRINIDAD SPEAKS OUT

The father of murdered baby Raquel George wants justice for his child’s death.

Sherwin John, a police officer, said he had warned the child’s mother about leaving his 15-month-old daughter in care of the teenage boy who is suspected of raping and killing the infant.

In an interview with Rhondall Feeles, president of the Single Fathers Association Of Trinidad & Tobago, John said he was heartbroken.

“I went to the Forensic Science Centre in St James and viewed my child’s body. I saw the bruises and I was disheartened. I could not believe my child was dead,” he said.

John said he had ended a relationship with the child’s mother but maintained his daughter. “And although we were having a paternity test done I accepted her as my own child and I loved her,” he said.

John said he had opened his home to the child’s mother, Sharlene George, and the suspect three years ago.
