One of the suspects in last Friday’s quadruple murder in Masemure Meadows, Westmoreland, was killed during an alleged confrontation with the police on Monday.
He is 38 year-old Leon Smith, otherwise called Rasta, of Geneva, Westmoreland.
It is reported that the police were on an operation in Grange Hill, in search of wanted men when they came under heavy gunfire.
There was a shootout and Mr. Smith was later seen with bullet wounds.
A loaded pistol was reportedly taken from him.
Mr. Smith died at hospital.
