ONE OF JAMAICA’S MOST WANTED FOUND IN EAST KINGSTON

A man described as one of Jamaica’s most wanted fugitives was captured Thursday afternoon by the Kingston East Police.

The suspect, who was being sought in connection with shootings and murders in the Corporate Area, including the deadly attack during a funeral at the King’s Chapel Church in East Kingston last year, was arrested during an operation in McKintyre Villa.

Assistant Commissioner Devon Watkis, head of the Area Four Police headquarters, told RJR News that increased police operations in the conflict zone in Dunkirk led to the capture of the fugitive.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was also wanted for a triple murder in West Kingston.

In the meantime, ACP Watkis said the police and military are still working to restore order to Mountain View Avenue and Rockfort.

Sections of the communities have been on edge over the last few weeks as gunmen from Oliver Road and Jarrett Lane exchange gunfire in an ongoing conflict.
