Five persons were shot, one fatally, when a gunmen went on a rampage at a funeral in Salt Spring, St. James this afternoon.
It’s reported that, shortly after 3 o’clock, a funeral procession left the a church in the community of Quarry, the gunman attacked.
Our correspondent reports that mourners were attending the funeral of Oshane ‘Ganda’ Duhaney, the alleged leader of the Waltham Gang, who was murdered several weeks ago in St Ann.
The shooting happened despite the presence of security personnel who have increased their numbers in St James in the wake of a state of public emergency.

In the aftermath of the attack, the security forces stepped up their presence and have been conducting searches in the area.
