Barrington Whyte, the 52 year-old businessman who is accused of killing his wife, District Constable Melissa Edwards Whyte, was remanded on Wednesday when he appeared before the St. Andrew Parish Court.
Prosecutors are awaiting the post mortem report.
Mr. Whyte is to return to court on November 29 for a bail hearing.
He was charged last week with the murder of his wife.
Investigators reported that he used a machete to inflict wounds to his spouse during a domestic dispute at their home on Farmbrook Avenue in Patrick City, St. Andrew on September 29.
It was reported that Mr. Whyte killed his wife after she informed him that she wanted to end the marriage.
