JAMAICANS ARRESTED IN BOCA RATON DRUG BUST

The US Coast Guard has arrested six people, including two Jamaicans, following a drug bust near Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday.

A Coast Guard spokesman said the crew boarded a 35-foot vessel about eleven miles east of Boca Raton.

It’s reported that as the Coast Guard crew came alongside the vessel, it saw a package being thrown overboard.

It was later recovered by another Coast Guard crew.

The other Coast Guard crew allegedly discovered an additional 17 bales and three packages aboard, and seized 750 pounds of marijuana.

The spokesman said aboard the intercepted vessel were two Jamaicans, three Bahamians and a Guyanese.

US authorities suspect they were part of a drug-smuggling operation.
