Man found dead at entertainer’s home

A residence on Sunset Close in Cherry Gardens, said to be owned by an entertainer, was the scene of a murder on Wednesday morning.

Dead is 38-year-old Junior Thompson of Prospect District in St Thomas. Thomas was known by the alias ‘Shagel’.

Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that armed men entered the residence, hoping to commit a robbery, when they stumbled upon Thompson.

The police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed that a stabbing did take place at the Cherry Gardens residence, but could not confirm if the house belonged to the entertainer. They also did not confirm whether Thompson was killed during an attempted robbery, pointing out that investigations are ongoing.

According to the CCU, at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, workmen found Thompson’s body lying in a pool of blood in a room on the property. The scene was processed, and the body was later taken to the morgue.

  1. Information is missing I just hope enough forensic evidence was left behind to catch those involved. Friends set up and kill friends every day so Popcaan being away on tour and the deceased being his childhood friend means nothing to me. His death could have been premeditated and planned prior to the tour. Wasn’t Popcaan ad Kartel bench an baty? Just saying… Trust is what gets us killed.
