MAN MASH UP DI PEOPLE DEM CREDIT CARD READER BECAUSE DEM NEVA A LOOK PAN HIM

Man damages card reader at gas station over lack of attention

A man who caused a card reader at a service station to be damaged after he went there in a rage, claimed that he was angry because the cashier was not paying him any attention.

The 27-year-old man, Ashley Stephen, however, told the court that he is willing to pay for the device, which is valued at US$400. As a result, his bail was extended for him to return to court on Monday with the money.

The prosecutor told the court that the card reader was damaged after Stephens shoved it off the counter.

But he denied doing that.

“I did not sweep it off the counter. I just slammed down the phone on the counter because the cashier was not paying me any attention,” Stephens said.

According to reports, Stephen went to the service station on Barbican Road in Kingston to speak to a cashier whom he claimed had given him the wrong credit.

However, following the incident, he was charged with malicious destruction of property, to which he has pleaded guilty.

Stephen’s bail was subsequently extended for him to return for sentencing and to make compensation.
