WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?- GOOD MORNING

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile 1 peter 3:10

People generally think that the easiest way to win sympathy and get the help they need from others is to talk about the suffering they are going through. So when you ask them how they are doing, they tell you the catalogue of troubles and afflictions that they are going through. They fail to see that question as an opportunity to speak life into whatever is dying in and all around them. Let’s have a positive attitude to life. Instead of saying all the terrible things that are happening, I am sure you can find some good things to say. You woke up this morning and still have your hearing but there are some people who woke up deaf. You can still talk but there are people who woke up dumb. You can see and that is why you are reading this devotional but there are people who woke blind. And most importantly, you woke up; there are people who couldn’t wake up at all because they died in their sleep.

The things we say about ourselves have a direct consequence on the way our lives turn out to be. If all you have to say about your life are negative things, then you are in bondage and in urgent need of deliverance. Your deliverance begins with you learning to talk right about yourself; saying the exact things God says about you in His word. And even after you are delivered, you need to continue talking right in order to maintain your deliverance.

This process begins with your mindset. The Bible says “as a man thinks in his heart so is he and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”; what you say is who you are. That is why the apostle peter says “he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile”. Besides, people will sympathise with you and help you because God moved their hearts to do so and not because of all the terrible report that you have to give about your life.

Liberation thought: Let Your Spirit arise within me, O Lord.

Prayer:

Every cause of spiritual blindness in my life, be nullified by the blood of Jesus.
Every curse of vagabond anointing, be broken, in Jesus’ name.
Every cause of profit starvation in my life, be nullified by the blood of Jesus.
