ONE WITH GOD IS MAJORITY- GOOD MORNING

One With God is Majority

The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength. They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. (1Samuel 2:4-5)

People draw strength from the number of people on their side. In a polygamous setting, the woman who has the largest number of children is deemed to have an edge over others with a lesser number of children. That is possibly the reason why Leah and Rachel used their maids as surrogate mothers in order to increase the number of children they each had for Jacob. This seems to have been their culture overtime. Thus, when God finally blessed Hannah with Samuel, she categorically attacked that culture saying “the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many waxed feeble. Hannah found her strength in the Lord. She knew one with God is the majority.

You may find yourself in similar circumstances. Your in-laws are on your nerves because you have just one child; they might have gone to the extent of getting another wife for their son or encouraged him to have children with other women. Don’t despair, that only child you have might be the Isaac of your bloodline. John the Baptist was the child of Elizabeth’s old age and he turned out to be the greatest of all prophets and the one who heralded the coming of the Messiah.

Thank God for the child you have right now because with God, one child is worth seven. God’s purposes are not carried out by crowds of people; divine destiny is always carried out by ONE MAN. God is able to give you more children in spite of your biological clock but I want you to adopt the attitude of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego who said whether God delivers them out of the fiery furnace or not, they will not bow to another god!
