NOTHING WITHOUT LABOR- GOOD MORNING

Nothing Without Labour

“How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep-So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.”

Proverbs 6:9-11

There is a reward for every labour, positive or negative. The Bible says that we reap what we sow; if you sow corn you reap corn; if you saw yam you reap yam. On the contrary, you do not reap anything if you fail to sow something. In all, life does not encourage us to be lazy. The earth offers diverse forms of profit but only those people that till their earth may enjoy the profit of their work.

Your mind and your hand are your means of relating with your ‘earth’. Both are the source of your riches. With your mind, you prospect your ground and with your hand, you till it. Hence the Bible states: “He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread. But he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.” (Prov.12:11)

There is every assurance of reward if you would find good work to do. The scripture this morning urges that you rise up to a worthwhile job rather than fold your hands and allow poverty come on you like a prowler. You should not be lazy about your life and allow your needs, like an armed man, to hold you to ransom. God has done everything He needed to do for man; he gave him a mind and gave him hands. He created everything that needs to be created and has charged us with the duty of inventions. It was in the process of working that Adam discovered how to gather food for himself. Your blessing is determined by what you do with your hands. What you do with your ‘ground’, which includes the mind, hand and time these factors determines your poverty or your riches. What you have is a function of what you do with your hand. If you till your land, you qualify for plenty because plenty answers to work.

Liberation Thought: Nothing works without someone working it out.

Prayer:

Oh Lord, give me strength to work and receive the rewards of good labour, I pray in the name of Jesus.
I command every gathering of darkness plotting against my destiny to scatter in the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus, wherever the enemy has misdirected my destiny, I redirect it back by fire.
