The team is divided into four groups covering a vast section of St Thomas to include Prospect, Cotton Tree, Bath, Airy Castle, Chapel Hill, Market Road, Seaside, Swamp Road, Land Top, Chovey Housing Scheme, Curtis Bottom, and Harbour Head Road.
Armed with tins, pans and bottles, the team is moving from house to house, business places, pedestrians, and motorists in a bid to collect as much money as they can.
“Our target is as much as we can get, there is no limit,” Eunice Beckford, public relations officer of the CDC said. “Even though we don’t know Leslie-Ann personally she is from our community and we really want to see her get well.
Leslie-Ann’s condition was brought to the public’s attention two weeks ago and the Government, business places and individuals have being making donations to cover her $1.6 million in radiation fees, outstanding hospital bills of nearly $1 million, medication and various medical tests.
